The new suburb of Ny Blovstrød is situated in an area where nature is very present. The changing seasons are the surrounding setting in which the events of everyday life take place, and life in general where different generations get together, interact and cross each other’s tracks.
Green mobility, healthy lifestyle and children's safety are encouraged, as the whole area is car-free. The infrastructure based on bike and footpaths are further more the connection between Blovstrød (east
from project site) and Allerød’s centre in Lillerød where the train station is located (north-west from project site).
Small clusters of varying housing types offers a wide range of housing possibilities for different kinds of people with different needs and desires of privacy and community and every house has a direct access to the surrounding landscape.
The new development follows and compliments the existing topography, utilising rain water collection basins as a structuring element and a pertinent starting point for sustainable living in the new suburban area. Orchards, common gardens, solar cell farms, and waste-sorting stations are placed in between the clusters and will be driven by collective sustainable practises.
